Madeleine

2017

Madeleine began a one-year Master’s program in law in January 2017. She finished her course work for her Licence diploma in 2016. Her objective is to defend her thesis in April 2018 and then take a national competitive exam in August 2018 for a job as a magistrate. (Solidarité)

2016

Madeleine Yameogo still lives with her sister Hélène in a compound with the families of their two brothers. Her institute, CERPAMAD, is behind like everyone else; the school year 2015-16 didn’t start until the end of January. She is in her third and last year for a Licence diploma in law. She won’t finish her coursework until November. (A recent sonogram showed that her ovarian cysts had disappeared with the medication.) (Days 4, 5, and 7.)

2015

Madeleine is the younger sister of Hélène and attends the same institute in Ouagadougou. While Hélène is in accounting, Madeleine is doing Legal and Political Science. She weathered her mother’s death with less difficulty than Hélène and has had good grades for her first two years. We want to continue supporting her.

2014

Madeleine seems well-launched in her first year of law studies in the capital, Ouagadougou. The director told us that she attends classes religiously and is doing well.

MadeleineHer sister Hélène is doing a Master’s at the same university. But both girls went through the trauma of nursing their dying mother at the beginning of this year.

We visited their Mom in hospital a week before she died. (Madeleine is at left; her sister Hélène at right.)

It was devastating for both of them. They are now back to their normal routine and are both expected to do well in school.
